Are You Making the Most Out Of Facebook

Everyone knows the importance of having a Facebook page, if it's for personal use - it's a great way to keep in touch with friends. What about a business Facebook profile, how does that work, what should you post, how does it work? Many people are delving straight into it and eventually wind up feeling as though they are out of their depth.

Following these tips could enable you to make the most out of your page:

Create the right landing page

One thing is for sure, you don't want people landing on your wall. Your wall is a messy place, filled with comments and links elsewhere, you don't want a new person to land on it and be confused about what is going on, or what you're offering. Creating a welcome page gives people a small insight into your company; it can be structured and relevant in an insightful way - unlike your wall.

Make the most out of your profile picture

It's important not just to have your logo as a profile picture. You have to remember this is the first thing people will see, it has to stick in their mind. Use your imagination, people will get used to your profile picture and make a connection between it and your company so make sure it stands out.

Don't fall behind

There's nothing worse than being interested in a profile on Facebook for it only to fall behind in terms of new material. Basically, if you haven't got anything interesting to say is there any real need to have a Facebook profile in the first place, you have to ask yourself that question. If you have got interesting stuff to say then make sure you say it and say it regularly.

Keep people interested

This is an important one, keeping people interested in your page is crucial to achieving social media success. Remember, you can post literally any form of media on Facebook - videos, photos and links to other interesting information keep your page updated and not only that, if it's interesting material people will also enjoy reading it. You can also directly engage with people by asking questions, creating polls and replying to anyone that leaves comments. It's a great way to communicate with your clients.

Get people involved

If you want people to do something then tell them. That old saying rings true, if you don't ask you don't get. If you want people to comment on a specific article then it's best to let them know they can, if you want people to tell their friends about your company then tell them, politely of course. It's difficult to be bossy and tell people what to do but in the case of Facebook it really works.

Hopefully these tips will point you in the right direction, check the FDC Facebook page if you like, become one of our fans and spread the word. It would be much appreciated.
