SEO Search Engine Optimisation

Writing Good Content For Your SEO Strategy

Anyone who has dabbled in SEO will know how hard it is to create a campaign that will actually achieve results. What doesn’t help is SEO’s ever-changing nature, which is imperative for its successfulness as search engines, such as Google, are always changing the ways in which they rank websites. Saying this, one of the most important factors in successful SEO will never change; this is the actual content of a website…

SEO is becoming more human-friendly…

SEO is the method which involves techniques and methods that help to optimise websites so that they can be seen by search engines. Recently there has been a BIG push in making SEO user friendly; in other words, a real-life user should be able to understand the website content.

You don’t need to be the next Shakespeare…

You don’t need to be the next Shakespeare and be amazing at writing; all you need is the knowledge to produce quality content for your website. This knowledge comes from knowing what your visitors are after and supplying them with it! Then all that needs to be done is the addition of keywords and an eye catching heading… Then your website will be SEO and user friendly.

Picking the right keywords…

Keywords, when chosen correctly, have the aim of helping search engines pick up on the content of your website. When people browse the internet with those specific words in mind, your content should appear at the top of the results.

Businesses should remember that they shouldn’t just consider the popularity of a keyword, but how high the competition is too, as you will be trying to fight against it. Several millions of other websites are all trying to reach the top spots of SERP’s just like you, so sadly the odds are against you! Don’t fret as there is a method that will work…

If you are a fairly new website then use long tail keywords, these are basically longer and more specific to the topic. Yes, these keywords may not be as popular but this reduces the competition!

Once you have determined the best keywords for your business you can get on writing relevant content for your website.

Getting the right keyword density…

When writing your website content, don’t just go throwing in your keywords everywhere and anywhere, this is a BIG mistake. Web crawlers and bots can tell when a website is keyword stuffing, so instead of your website rising in ranks it will lower, as this is highly frowned upon in the SEO world! Don’t be scared of using keywords, but just be clever about it. Remember, while you are writing content for you website, humans will be reading it as well as search engines. So write something that offers some value.

Catchy headlines that stick…

Just like magazine and newspaper articles, your website should have catching headlines to grab the reader. Once you have caught the person’s eye, you then want to ensure that they want to stay on your website, wanting to read more. You can be really clever and use a play on words for a particular headline, sometimes you may just want to use something as simple as “How to” or “10 Amazing Tips”, as many people want to read these types of articles.
