What is it?

Google AdSense is an advertising placement service by Google. It lets bloggers and webmasters display targeted text, video or image advertisements on website pages and earn revenue when site visitors view or click the ads.
It is a cost-per-click (CPC) advertising platform where you can insert a small amount of HTML text into your sites and have ads appear that are targeted and relevant to the content of the site.

How does Google choose which advertisements to display?

Google collects information about your search trends and history. It then uses that data to decide which advertisements you are most likely to click on.

If you are an AdSense publisher, Google uses two things to determine which ads to display on your site: keywords and bidding.

Advertisers usually bid different amounts for keywords. So Google chooses the highest bid and puts the advertisement of the highest bidder on your site. Whilst this is happening, Google is also analysing the keywords on each page to determine if the page is relevant to the ad or not.
