PPC is a paid advertising service which allows businesses to bid for targeted search marketing. For example, if a user searches for “Florist in Leicester”, a PPC advert which is targeting the words “Florist” and “Leicester” will be shown on the right-hand side of the search result page (SERPs). Each time a user clicks the advertisement, a fee is then payable to the search engine.
This method of advertising is a good way to drive traffic to your website, create instant brand awareness, and promote your business’s activity, but it does not improve overall search rankings in the long-term, which is the focus of SEO.
