Overview

Industry: Wallpaper design

Company background: Bruce Fine Papers is a small family-run business based in Lincolnshire which was established in 1994. They are worldwide producers of block printed, handmade paper. All of their paper is produced to order within the UK, and can be created to custom colour and scheme specifications.

Need: To develop a new website and rebrand, with e-commerce capabilities

Benefits: FDC's re-branding and web design solutions and ongoing services

Need

This is Bruce Fine Papers' first website, as they usually relied on word of mouth and their renowned reputation to attract business. Bruce Fine Papers wanted new company branding, a fresh logo and e-commerce capabilities to allow users to select wallpaper designs and purchase them securely via the new website. The company believed that with the addition of a clean and fresh website they would be able to increase the amount of sales the company made, so in April 2010 they approached FDC.

Naomi from Bruce Fine Papers had considered various design agencies but decided to go with FDC as she felt that some other agencies were too forceful in their approach.

Naomi said: "I chose FDC because of their bespoke design capabilities. I liked the style of the websites that FDC had already done. The sales team did not hound me like the other companies! They rang me once then left it to me to ring them when we had made our decision. They were professional and patient."

Solution

The solution was to create a website that had e-commerce capabilities for Bruce Fine Papers to sell their unique products online, and in turn help increase the profile of the company.

Naomi Bruce is happy with the finished result: "I love the website. It's exactly how we wanted it." FDC's Creative Director, Alex Chatzimikes, is pleased with the project's success: "It was a website that needed to reflect the quality and kind of product that Bruce Fine Papers creates. We're talking about handmade wallpapers in the old fashioned way, and this is why they are approached to provide for old buildings, even from Massachusetts in America, where they need to create the old wallpaper that used to be there from 200 to 300 years ago. So the website needed to reflect that and I think that that has been achieved because of the elegance and the old school style of it."
